MINT service centre

The MINT Service Centre connects schools, universities and businesses, and supports them in selecting suitable MINT programmes. Together, we develop tailored formats that give young people practical insights into careers, degree programmes and the world of work.

During the reporting year, the focus was once again on providing individual advice and support to schools, companies and other stakeholders involved in promoting young talent in MINT. We supported schools in planning and implementing projects, as well as in integrating MINT programmes into existing curricula. This gave rise to a wide range of activities – from events at schools and visits to universities to practical insights into companies.

As a MINT service centre, we draw on our many years of experience and our extensive network. We provide advice, facilitate contacts and support educational institutions and companies in implementing effective programmes for young people. This role as a knowledge and networking platform is becoming increasingly important. In this way, we provide guidance within the diverse MINT landscape, promote the exchange between the education sector and industry, and contribute to securing the next generation of skilled workers in Switzerland.

In addition to individual, free-of-charge advice, the MINT Days have established themselves as a standalone event: over the course of a single day, we offer an entire year group at a grammar school insight into technical and digital degree programmes and career paths, with input from professionals. The speakers talk about their choice of degree and career, their motivation and their work. In this way, around 150 to 200 young people gain guidance in the diverse MINT landscape in a single day and get to know people who share their enthusiasm for technical and digital careers.

"Working with the MINT Service Centre is a great asset to our school. Events such as ‘Find Your Number Day’ give our pupils practical insights into MINT careers and spark new interest. The young people’s enthusiasm for the wide range of opportunities in the MINT sector is particularly impressive. We value the professional organisation, the collaboration on an equal footing and the close link between school and the world of work. The MINT Service Centre is a valuable partner for us, one we would recommend without hesitation.”
