Girls’ Technology Days

The Girls Technology Days enable schoolgirls who are in the process of choosing a career to gain hands-on experience of technical professions and computer science. During the reporting year, we were able to expand the network of host companies: with Nestlé in Konolfingen, Bern, and Mikron in Agno, Ticino, two further IngCH member companies took part in the project for the first time.

During the Girls Technology Days, schoolgirls gain direct insight into technical career fields and get to know companies first-hand. They try their hand at practical tasks, exchange ideas with apprentices and staff, and discover new career prospects.

Feedback from the schoolgirls after participation:

“I found the day really exciting and varied. We got to build our own milk frother, which was really cool. Thanks for the great insight!”

“I’d always had the impression that technology was more of a male-dominated field. It was exciting to see what’s possible. I never would have thought I’d enjoy it so much.”

“I always thought technical careers were much more complicated. But the day was really exciting and showed me just how varied these careers are.”
