Achtung Technik Los!

Achtung Technik Los! (ATL) gives young people in the career choice phase direct insights into technical apprenticeships.

Canton of Zurich

During interactive action days, students experience how diverse, demanding and exciting technical professions are and learn about the further education and career opportunities available to them.

Many young people are only superficially familiar with technical professions or have incomplete perceptions of them. This is exactly where ATL comes in: through interactive workshops, students gain hands-on experience, engage with apprentices and professionals, and discover specific career paths. This approach strengthens their interest and supports informed career choices.

To date, ATL has been aimed at schools at lower secondary level (Sekundarstufe I) in the cantons of Aargau and Zurich.

2025/2026 financial year

Over the course of 2025–2026, nine action days were held: four in the canton of Aargau with around 600 participants and five in the canton of Zurich with around 560 young people.

The pilot project at Sekundarschule Küsnacht ZH demonstrated how ATL can also be implemented successfully in smaller schools with only a few classes. The experience provided valuable insights for the further scaling of the project and confirmed the importance of direct interaction with apprentices for effective career guidance.

As IngCH places a stronger strategic focus on vocational education and training, Achtung Technik Los! (ATL) is gaining in importance. Additional investments will support the further development of the project and enable its expansion into other regions of German-speaking Switzerland. A first pilot project in Eastern Switzerland is planned for autumn 2026.

In addition, new formats such as Achtung Technik Live! are being developed. These information evenings on technical apprenticeships take place directly at training companies and deliberately involve parents alongside young people, recognising their important role in the career choice process.
